Snoqualmie Falls and Train Museum

So we only got one picture of the waterfall. It was very beautiful but they had all of the lookouts closed for construction so we could not get a very good pic. As you can see from the blurry pic we were right in the path of the water that blows off and we got pretty wet. Luckily we dont go anywhere without our rain coats so we were good.

They had a train that the kids could climb in and play. Clayton really enjoyed that.
Here they are saying Hi from the conductor seat.
Ryan is showing Clayton how the train works. I don't know that he fully understood but he thought it was cool.
And this is Brody who liked the big trains, but liked the rocks that were around the tracks more.  He looooves rocks and we can't keep them away from him. He will stop no matter where he is if there is a rock that we wants to pick up. And he will not move again until he has it in his hand.

Penrose Point

The next trip was to Penrose Point. It is a fun little camping spot that has a "beach" that was less than a half mile away. It also had a sand bar that when the tide went out you could walk way out into the ocean and check out all the marine life on the bar. It was lots of fun. Here is our campsite. Always lush and green surrounding you. We love how mossy and green everything is here. Even the road was a little slick because of moss. It is new and different we love it.

Here is a picture of the sand bar this is us at the beginning of it and it streches way out behind Clay. One thing that was interesting was the spitting water that we saw. It was everywhere. There were hundreds of clams and they have this weird shoot and it sucks up the water to get nutrients and then they shoot it back out. And because the tide was down it shot in the air. It was crazy and it took us a while to figure out what was going on.  Both Ryan and Clayton got shot by them when they were looking at other things. Clayton also found lots of fun clam shells that were empty and he kept a bunch. Every time he would pick one up he would say I am going to keep this for Grandma.
Closer to the end we ran into an eagle that was hanging out on the beach.  We got about 50 feet from him before he flew off.  They are sooo beautiful.  We have seen eagles on almost every camping trip. I have never seen so many before, it is awesome.
This is Brody touching a crab. This one is dead so we let him touch the top of the shell.  But there were a bunch that were alive that we saw digging in to wait till the water got back. There were also a ton of little crabs, maybe an inch in size under rocks and dug in the sand.  Clayton had a ton of fun digging and finding them and then watching them find a new hole and dig and climb in it.
Then we went for hikes around the area. We pushed Brody and Clay because they were getting tired. But it was beautiful and fun.
Of course we could not make it without it raining on us at least once during the day. Here are the boys decked out in their rain jackets and boots. They love every minute of it though.

Folklife Fair and CRAB!

So one Saturday we went downtown to the Folklife Fair. It is in the Seattle City Center, that is huge and there were a million people there. It was really fun though. There were lots of activities for the kids and it was a nice warm day with NO RAIN, which seems amazing to me right now but I here it gets better here. Anyways, we rode the bus because parking it horrible that is this first picture.

Then Clayton got to ride on a bunch of rides. He had a ton of fun. There were blowup slides and a ropes course that they could do. I don't have pictures of that one here but Ryan said the adult that they have helping was having a hard time keeping up with Clay he cruised through it. In this one he is on the swings.
Then we built a boat. Brody loved to hammer everything and anything. Mostly he hammered the bench we were working on. Our boat is at the bottom of the picture.
This is showing you how many people were at this place. There were sooooo many people. You could barely walk and it is a really big center.
Here is a pic, of Claytons face painting. It is a fire breathing dragon. He was soooo sad when we had to wash it off that night for church in the morning. He is also showing off his sword. Him and Brody both got one of course and had fun having sword fights with each other.
After the fair we rode the tram to downtown Seattle and went to the fish market to get some crab.  This is the famous bronze pig that is outside of it.
And here is the crab FEAST! Ryan had already eaten on whole crab leg before I could get this picture. But it was delicious, and there was so much that we were not able to finish it in one meal.  I made crab stuffed crossaints the next day and there was still more than we could eat.  Sadly, one crossaint was thrown away. But it was good crab!

Hanging at the Apt

We did some artwork this week. This is the only spot that in not a bathroom that is not carpeted and I did not dare give Brody a paint brush over the carpet. He did quite well, and only painted one cupboard door. I did have him in clothes for these pictures but they very soon came off because it was all over them. Luckily, I bought kids paint that washes out easily and the clothes were safe and the kids had fun!

This is Clayton painting a rose for his grandma, although he could not decide which grandma he wanted to give it to so he was going to paint them all one. He lost his enthusiasim and we ended with just the one picture and put it on our fridge. Sorry grandmas! Its the thought that counts with this one for sure. His heart was there but his mom wanted to keep his cute picture.
Here is Brody doing just what his brother does. He could not really understand why we were doing it on the paper when it was just as good on everything else but by the end he did better just putting it on the paper.
Here they are playing with the Legos. Brody really does follow Clayton around all day and just wants to do what he does. It is adorable and Clayton is so good about letting him play. For the most part they do well together and have a lot of fun. There is nothing better than listening to your kids laugh and play together. No one can get Brody laughing like Clayton can.
This is Claytons awesome fort that him and his dad built. He loves to play with it and have battle between the good and bad guys. He honestly cannot get enough Legos and neither can his dad. They had me buy more so they could build more.
Here are the boys again. Brody is riding on Claytons back. He lays down and holds onto it and laughs the whole time Clayton crawls around.
This is Clayton "riding" on Brody's back. Like I keep saying he wants to do everything that Clayton does and I mean everything.
So I know that these are long blogs but I thought I would put a few things down that I have been meaning to write about the boys.  Things that I love.............
Clayton loves to dance and everytime there is music he will bust a move- he loves to do moves that are more like break dancing than just dancing. I have been watching so you think you can dance and he really picks up on things easily. We are going to put him in gymnastics because he is very coordinated.  It is pretty awesome.
Brody has been watching his brother and loves to walk down or on anything that makes his walk more exciting. He will walk down the curb, or on the lines in the street, on and over the rocks, NEVER around anything.
Brody is soooo stubborn and independant, without grandma and grandpa we do not get as much done. He is very willing to let them help him do things, but mom and dad cannot. He has to do it himself. He will literally go hungry before he will let me feed him with a spoon. But he is the messiest eater ever! But I love him for it and it makes him one smart tough kid.
Clayton listens to everything me and Ryan are saying, even when we think he is not listening. He will hear us talking about a problem and he will always have a solution for it. They are always the easiest and purest things you could think of. I love to hear his solutions to our grown up problems, and most the time he leaves me thinking that I wish things could be so easy to solve, or if only I could have a more relaxed way of looking at things. Us adults always over complicate things.
Well those are a few things that I can think of for now. I do love my boys and my husband. He is amazing. As always, I am a couple weeks behind on blogging so I have many more pictures to share so this is yet again to be continued..... Loves to everyone!!

More Fun In Seattle

We went to the Seattle Park and the aquarium and on the way to the aquarium we rode the Carousel. Grandma and Grandpa went with us to the Seattle Aquarium when they were in town with us and they were nice enough to buy us a pass. It has been wonderful.  We have gone back once so far but plan on going much more. The kids absolutely LOVE it! There is a ton of stuff to see and they have their own tide pools that the kids can touch and feel. This first picture is us on the Carousel.

This is a huge octopus that both times we have been there has been moving from side to side of its tank. It is way cool to watch. Brody stands there and watches forever and Clayton does what he is doing in this picture-goofs off. But he also loves watching it and thinks it is awesome.
This is one of the tide pools Clayton is sticking his whole hand into a Sea Anenami. They have HUGE ones in thier tanks. They are sooo crazy big. I honestly cannot stand to touch them, it freaks me out. But Clayton LOVES it!! We spent at least 20 minutes here. Brody loves to watch and touches a little as well. He mostly likes the water. We also likes to watch the fish swim around.
Here are all my boys watching the giant fish tank. This one is all fish that are found around Seattle, this is in the water on the edge of Seattle we are underground right now. It is so much fun to see, and while we were there they had divers feeding the fish.  Brody likes to wave at the divers, and if they see him they will wave back. He gets very excited by that.
This is the walk back to the car. Brody is asleep in the stroller and so we were making Clayton walk. He got tired so I gave him a piggy back ride and he fell asleep on my back. We officially wore them both out.
Later that week we went to the Seattle City Center. It is a huge park and many other things. This is a picture of the kids playing on some whale sculptures.
This is the awesome fountain that they have, it is set to music and does some way cool stuff. In the summer you can come and play in the water- the kids and dad took off their shoes and socks and ran through the water- but it was a little cold to do any more than that.
This is Clayton posing on the whale.  He loves to pose and have us take pictures of him. This is one of four that he made me take of him on this whale. He loves to have his picture taken.
A huge sculpture that is at the park. We walked around most of the park and there are sculptures and artwork everywhere. It is pretty fun. All over Seattle there is cool stuff to see and do.
