4th of July on the Beach

This is where we spent our 4th of July.  Since Brandan and Sarah are so close we went to their place for the holiday.  We went to the beach that afternoon.  It was beautiful, but very windy.  We hung out there for a little while played in the sand and the boys played in the water a little bit.

When the tide went out we headed over to the sea stacks to see the tide pools and play with the sea creatures.  We were able to walk around the large sea stack behind me and there is a tunnel that they have created to get through when the tide is us.  The kids thought it was great. Later we went to Brandan and Sarah's for games, naps and food.

It was a great BBQ with a red, white and blue theme.  Sarah is a great party planner.  We loved every bit.  Then we headed back to the beach for the fire works and smores!  It was really fun to see. Tons of people head down to the beach and set off their fireworks for themselves.  It was fun to watch everyones, there were a couple people that brought legit fireworks.  The kids loved them, and Kaiya got used to them after a bit.

Then we did our own, we started with sparklers and worked our way up. I did not take any other pictures of them though.  We were enjoying them too much.

The ninja pose, we get these shots 90% of the time when we take pictures of the boys.
The next morning/afternoon we headed back to the beach to play for a couple hrs before heading home.

The boys did some skim boarding.  They are working on it. It takes some getting used to.  But it is fun to watch them try.

Then we played in the sand of course.  We built a giant sea turtle, but I forgot to get a picture of it.  Then we went back to playing in the water. It was a beautifully sunny day and we all had a great time.
